Romantic Description:
Gemlike Torre Chigi rises at the end of a private drive which once
formed part of the ancient stone road leading through the Montagnola
hills to Siena within easy walking distance of the hamlet of Ancaiano.
Originally constructed as a watchtower, it was converted in the
15th century into a toll house by the Chigi family, and more recently
into the tiny romantic hideaway that we see today. The tower’s
location just outside Siena and its many charming features - the
antique bread oven in the ground floor kitchen, the pool and hot
tub with stunning views of the hills, a cozy sitting room with satellite
television and beamed ceilings throughout - combine to make this
a matchless retreat for two. The small garden features a pretty
flowering pergola and olive groves. |
